Functions of a Check Valve
1. A check valve, also known as a non-return valve or a check valve, is a valve that allows fluid to flow in one direction only, preventing reverse flow. If used in a hydraulic system, a check valve prevents reverse flow. If used in a pneumatic system, a check valve prevents reverse flow during compressed air.
2. A standard check valve has a single function: to prevent reverse flow. If installed at the pump outlet, it prevents damage to the pump when pressure suddenly increases, acting as a check valve.
3. When the pump is not operating, a check valve prevents fluid from flowing back into the tank. A check valve also separates oil circuits, preventing interference between them.
4. If a check valve is connected in parallel with a throttle valve or a pressure reducing valve, it can form an actuator, allowing fluid to flow slowly in the forward direction and rapidly in the reverse direction. Alternatively, it can slow down the flow in the forward direction and create a free-flow loop in the reverse direction.

How to Order a Check Valve
Check valves are generally categorized into three types based on their structure: lift check valves, swing check valves, and butterfly check valves. Different structures will vary the function of the check valve, so please consult us for confirmation based on your installation environment and usage requirements.
