① Gas Transportation: To overcome pipeline resistance, gas pressure needs to be increased. For purely transportation purposes, pressurized gas pressures are generally low. However, gas transportation often involves large volumes, requiring considerable power.
② High-Pressure Gas Generation: Some chemical reactions in the chemical industry require high pressure, such as ammonia synthesis and ethylene bulk polymerization. Some separation processes, such as gas liquefaction and separation, also require high pressure. These high-pressure processes place significant demands on the outlet pressure of the gas transportation equipment involved.
③ Vacuum Generation: Many unit operations are performed below atmospheric pressure, requiring vacuum pumps to extract gas from the equipment to create a vacuum.
