To meet the diverse requirements of various conveying tasks, pumps come in a wide variety of types. Based on their operating principle, they are categorized into the following: ① Dynamic pumps. Also known as vane pumps, these include centrifugal pumps, axial flow pumps, and vortex pumps. The pressure head generated by these pumps varies with the conveying flow rate; ② Positive displacement pumps. These include reciprocating pumps, gear pumps, and screw pumps. The pressure head generated by these pumps is almost independent of the conveying flow rate; ③ Fluid action pumps. These include jet pumps powered by high-speed jets, acid eggs (named after the egg-shaped container originally used to convey acid), and air lifts powered by high-pressure gas (usually compressed air).
